John Vromann recently came to SIUE to deliver a power message on living college life in the front row. You don't have to be in college to live your life in the front row. This is a lifestyle change, you don't want to be the person who is in the back row who doesn't get anything out of life. Make a change in your life and start participating.
As Seniors at SIUE you only have a month left to live your college life in the front row. Good news is it's not too late, you can still live your life in the front row through these five steps.
The first step is to connect. While on campus it is extremely important to connect and network with as many people as possible while you're in school. You never know who will be able to help you achieve your goals. It is so important to treat everyone you meet as if they are rock stars.
The second step is to create. You are a creator and you should create your own excellence. People aren't going to just hand you your dream job., you are going to have to create it. You need to understand that your professors and bosses don't create your excellence, you do.
The third step is to change. "You aren't the person you were born to be today, you have to change in order to become that person," Jon Vronmanm
. Change is something you have to embrace in order to achieve your dream job and goals. It it is important to understand that what is good for you isn't always easy to swallow.
The fourth step is to commit. You have to 100% commit to your dreams and goals or they will not happen. You should ask yourself these questions:
"What will I gain if I succeed?"
"What will I lose if I do not succeed?"
When your "why" has heart, your "How" gets legs.
" Commitment was one of the most powerful messages for me throughout the entire speech, I realized I need to be more committed to my dreams," said Shannon Fleming, SIUE Junior.
The fifth step is to connect. You should always be a giver. There are too many people in the world that are only takers. You should walk into every situation asking yourself what can I give. In the end people aren't going to remember you by what you did, they are going to remember you by what you gave away.
Seniors should take this as a message directed right at them, it isn't too late to live your life in the front row. Participate in life and you will get more out of it.
